Grief as former DC killed in accident

Mwanza. Former District Commissioner (DC) and Member of Parliament Danhi Makanga has died. According to reports, the deceased, who was the Simiyu region Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) secretary of Ideology and Publicity, died yesterday in an accident that involved a motorbike and rickshaw.

Speaking to The Citizen, Misungwi DC Juma Sweda said the accident happened at Nyashishi when a motorcycle he boarded collided with the rickshaw. The biker also died at the scene.

“The duo have died, but the rickshaw rider escaped with minor injuries,” he said in a telephone interview.

Mr Sweda added that the deceased’s bodies are at Misungwi District Hospital, noting that law enforcers have launched investigation into the accident.
