Dodoma. The government said yesterday that it never applied political vendetta and neither did it infringe on the rights of any person in its decision to revoke tittle deeds for various farms across the country.

The minister for Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development, Mr William Lukuvi told Parliament that in the past few months they had revoked title deeds for 32 farms measuring 67,393.66 acres.

The farms, he said, are located in Kinondoni, Temeke, Kilosa, Mvomero, Morogoro, Iringa, Kibaha, Busega, Muheza, Lushoto, Bukoba and Arumeru.

“We never infringed on anybody’s rights…We never nationalised the farms. We only revoked the title deeds after the owners failed to abide by the terms and conditions of ownership,” he said.

Mr Lukuvi was responding to Devotha Minja (Special Seats - Chadema) who wanted to know whether the state had already developed the farms.
