Dar es Salaam. The country’s Drugs Control and Eradication Authority (DCEA) said it has arrested a ‘popular drugs dealer’ in Dar es Salaam, Mr Ally Mohamed Yusuf alias Porojo, with 300 grams of heroin.

Speaking to MCL Digital, the DCEA Commissioner for Intelligence, Fredrick Kibuta said Mr Ally Mohamed was arrested at around 14.00 hours on Tuesday August 14 with packets of heroin.

Commissioner Kibuta said that DCEA officers inspected the home of the man, a suspected drugs dealer and took the packets of heroin which were handed over to the Government Chemistry Laboratory Agency (GCLA), who in return approved that the contents comprise packets of Heroin (illicit drugs).

“Preliminary investigations conducted by such agency has revealed that the ceased packets of drugs constitute Heroin. Investigations are going on in order to submit the arrested drugs and take the dealer to court,” said the DCEA head.

Kibuta said DCEA had enough records out of investigations indicating that the suspect had been operating in the city for many years.

He has travelled to several foreign countries, including Pakistani, Italy and Turkey in his illicit drugs dealing, alleged the commissioner.

The commissioner added that Mr Mohammed was cooperating with Ayubu Mfaume Kiboko and Islem Shebe Islem who were also arrested with heroin and taken to Court in July this year.
