African leadership forum kicks off in Dar

The African Leadership Forum is an initiative of H.E. Benjamin W. Mkapa, former President of the United Republic of Tanzania, and is organised in collaboration with UONGOZI Institute.

The forum marks  the fiftieth anniversary of the Organisation of African Unity – now the African Union.

Dar es Salaam. The African Leadership Forum brings together former Heads of State as well as leaders from business, government, civil society and academia from across Africa in Dar es Salaam today.

the African Leadership Forum 2016 will focus on the theme of: Enabling African business to tranform the continent, with the overarching objective of the dialogue to draw out the obstacles preventing African businesses from flourishing, and identify what needs to be done about them.

Key amongst the topics of today's panel discussion  are; Africa's energy and transport sectors and the integration of the content's capital market spaces.

The forum marks  the fifty first anniversary of the Organisation of African Unity – now the African Union – the Heads of State and Government expressed their commitment to continuing to pursue the "pan-African vision of an ‘integrated, prosperous, and peaceful Africa, driven by its own citizens and representing a dynamic force in the global arena," the forum organiser, the Institute of African Leadership for Sustainable Development (UONGOZI Institute) released.
