Geita. About 18 students from three different secondary schools in Nyang’hwale District have been hospitalized following an earthquake that occurred earlier today.

Of the number, 17 are admitted at Kharumwa Hospital while the remaining one was rushed to Geita Regional Hospital for further medical attention after breaking a leg when they scrambled for exit to rescue their lives.

The hospitalized students, according to the Geita District Commissioner, Mr Herman Kapufi, are from Msalala (16), Busolwa (1) and Nyang’hwale (1) secondary schools. The Nyang’hwale student broke their leg.
