Magufuli appoints national lands council chief

Dar es Salaam. President John Magufuli has appointed Mr Fidelis Mutakyamirwa as the chairman of the National Lands Consultative Council (NLCC).

A statement released on Thursday, June 14, 2018, signed by the Permanent Secretary for the ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlement Development, Ms Dorothy Mwanyika, says seven other people have been appointed as members of the council.

The statement names the appointees as Ms Sophia Kaduma, Mr Allen Richard, Mr Victor Mwita, Ms Fares Mahuha, Ms Tike Mwambipile, Dr Mkuki Hante and Ms Neema Mwakilembe.

“The council has been appointed by the minister for Lands, Housing and Human Settlement Development, Mr William Lukuvi, following powers vested on him under Section 13 of the Lands Act,” reads part of the statement.

According to the statement, the appointment started with effect from yesterday, (Wednesday) June 13, 2018.
