Dodoma. Former Chama Cha Mapinduzi CCM Secretary General Mr Abdulrahman Kinana has bid farewell to the party MPs on Tuesday evening, leaving them counsel of three things they must do to build peace among the people. He said these three things in a farewell event that the MPs had prepared for him, as they also welcomed their new SG Dr Bashiru Ally.
He said CCM has had a number of Secretary Generals, and each one of them left as he has. “I did my best to volunteer, work hard, push myself and use my knowledge in service. You will be the judge, have I done as it was supposed to?”
Kinana went on to say, that if there were any shortcomings, then they were his own. And if there were any success, they were because of every CCM member and all MPs.
“CCM is not a party for leaders, it is a party for wananchi. Our party is still strong, loved, and respected within and outside our borders. It is perfect in its form,” Mr Kinana said.
He said what has brought success in the party and what must continue being observed are these three things: “We must keep our promises to the Tanzanian people, as it says in our manifesto; prepare ourselves for the coming local by-elections; and prepare for the coming General Election.”
He further said, “If the government keeps its promises made to wananchi, the people will continue trusting it. And when the government works on the people’s grievances, they will be comforted and you will continue to be elected in great numbers. At the end of the day, CCM will continue leading.”
