Women MPs put up catwalk to raise fund for toilets construction

Dodoma. Members of Parliament put up a catwalk Friday night in a fun-filled event to raise funds for construction of lavatories in needy girl schools.

The event which was organised by Tanzania Women Parliamentary Group (TWPG) was held at the parliamentary grounds in Dodoma. The association is targeting to raise Sh3.5 billion for the course.

Deputy Speaker Dr Tulia Ackson and Godluck Mlingwa did a duet in taarab.

Lawmakers Catherine Magine and Nema Mgawa showcased the Maasai tradition outfit, while Prof Anna Tibaijuka wowed the crown on the catwalk with a flowing shinny black dress.

Hasna Mwilima and Martha Mlata both showcased Tanzania’s popular ‘kitenge.’

Deputy Minister Kangi Lugola and Kibiti MP Ally Ungando, drew cheers dancing to ‘Mwanaume Mashine’ song which has ruled the airwaves for some time now.

Other younger legislators revealed their dancing prowess gyrating to a number of rhumba hit songs.
