Companies urged to join the Top 100 Survey to grow

Dar es Salaam. Mwananchi Communication Ltd (MCL) Board of Directors chairman Leonard Mususa has urged more firms to participate in the Tanzania Top 100 Mid-sized Companies Survey if they were to grow.

He said this on Thursday, October 25 during a gala dinner to announce winners in the 2018 edition of the survey.

The Top 100 Survey, which started seven years ago, is a brainchild of MCL--through its The Citizen brand and KPMG.

He said the survey provides an opportunity for local mid-sized companies to showcase their operations and capitalise on the benefits of the survey to grow their businesses.

Their participation, he said, would widen their window of opportunities.

He said the survey offers a chance for the participating firms to meet with various experts who can be instrumental in the growth of their businesses.

“The participation in the survey enhances the participating companies to network with various experts who have long experience of conducting businesses from various fields,” said Mr Mususa.

"Participants would also be in a position to share experience, look of the best practices with other companies network with like-minded on untapped markets which can led them to more success.

“Top 100 acts as a platform for SMEs to take a proactive approach to assess their   performance among their peers, to know their market standing and strategise for enhanced growth of their business,” he argued.

He said the growth of most companies was gradual as they succeed to grow their markets step by step through increased public awareness of their products or services; hence Top 100 Survey creates vast opportunities for participants.

NMB Bank is the main sponsor of the eighth edition of the survey, with other sponsors being the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) and Azam TV.

Participating companies are expected to have turnovers that range between Sh1 billion to Sh20 billion.
