Blast hits police building in Cizre, Turkey

Cizre. A large car bomb has exploded outside a police building in Cizre, south-east Turkey, reports say.

Many people are feared to have been killed and wounded, sources say.

Cizre has been the subject of several curfews in the past few months by Turkish authorities fighting the PKK.

The explosion occurred at 07:00 (04:00 GMT) and was heard across the area.

Twelve ambulances and two helicopters were sent to the scene, Hurriyet newspaper reports.
