Dar es Salaam. The Alliance for Change and Transparency (ACT) Wazalendo is organizing a national forum to discuss the need of patriotism on natural resources by putting into the context, the presidential investigative report on the type, amount and value of metals contained in the copper concentrates confiscated at the Dar es Salaam Port.

A statement issued and signed on Sunday by ACT-Wazalendo Secretary of Ideology, Communication and Publicity, Mr Ado Shaibu, says the party believes that the supervision of mineral resources required a broad and independent national debate to put all issues concerning the industry at the national knowledge, understanding and consensus.

“The national forum slated for June 3, at the venue to be announced later, will gather Dr Rugemeleza Nshala, Mr Nicomedes Kajungu, Mr Amani Mhinda and Mr Kabwe Zitto among stakeholders who will be main speakers during the forum,” reads the statement in part.

Mr Shaibu said in the letter that ACT had been forced to call the forum following findings tabled by the committee led by Prof Abdulkarim Mruma. The findings made it that the amount of gold in the containers were higher than initially stated.
