Calm as voters decide on their next councilor in Mbeya

Rungwe. It was all calm as voters turned up to elect their new councilor for Ibighi Ward in Rungwe District, Mbeya Region on Sunday, November 26.

The returning officer in the ward, Mr Stevin Mwakingwe, said he was so far happy on how the exercise was being conducted.

“All has been as per plan. The polling stations opened at 7am and as we speak, no irregularity has been reported anywhere,” he told The Citizen at 9am.

Ibighi Ward has a total of 4,591 registered voters.

The candidates and their parties in brackets include Suma Fyandomo (CCM), Lusubilo Simba (Chadema), Geoffrey Mwakajinga (UDP), Emmanuel Mwasilembo (DP) and Grace Ngalaba (CUF).
