Clouds Media Group headquarters on fire
Dar es Salaam. The Clouds Media Group (CMG) headquarters based in Mikocheni, Dar es Salaam caught fire on Tuesday, November 21.
However, the cause of the fire – which erupted at around 10am – has not been established. People who were in the neighbourhood just saw flames erupting from some of the buildings, and immediately raised the alarm, and called in fire and rescue teams.
Not long thereafter – at around at 11am – four fire engines appeared on the scene, and scrambled into action, with the firemen and others frantically ‘rescuing’ property from the rooms, including computers.
It was later understood that the fire started on the first floor of the building, trapping a number of people on the top floor… But no serious injuries have been reported so far.
Speaking to reporters, CMG programs director Ruge Mutahaba said: "On behalf of Clouds Media Group, I heartily thank the firefighters for the great job they have done.
"Let me also assure our supporters and customers that the radio and television programs will be back on air this evening," Mr Mutahaba said.
