DSE All Shares index close 11.8ppt high today

Dar es Salaam. The Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) All Shares Index closed 11.87 points higher to 2,124 points today from 2,113.10 points recorded on Friday close.

Analysts say the improvement of the DSEI caused by the rise of share prices of East African Breweries Limited which increased by 1.93 per cent, Acacia by 0.76 per cent, KCB by 1.14 per cent and Uchumi Supermarkets by 12.50 per cent.

The report shows that the market was today dominated by foreign investors of whom they injected Sh224.2 million from buying shares, which was 85 per cent of the overall transaction.

Local investors also dominated the selling side of the market by 53.38 per cent against foreign who sold 46.62 per cent of the value, although turnover from shares sold by foreign investors were Sh123 million.

TBL dominated the trading activities today by recording a turnover of Sh224 million followed by Swissport with 20.7 million while CRDB and Tanzania Portland Company Limited transacted Sh13.2 million and Sh4.8 million respectively.

The report shows that the total market capitalization gained to Sh20.4 trillion today, higher than Sh20.3 trillion recorded during the last week’s close.
