Dodoma. The government has formed a task to investigate security concerns including the wave of attacks involving shooting in the country.

The Minister for Defence and Security, Dr Hussein Mwinyi, told the National Assembly on Thursday September, 14, 2017 that the team will probe the incidents including the use of firearms. The team is formed by members from defense and security organs.

Dr Mwinyi said this in Parliament when responding to a supplementary question asked by Yusuf Salim (Chambani-CUF).

Mr Salim asked why the Tanzania People's Defence Forces were not participating in dealing with recent attacks which included the shooting of an MP Tundu Lissu and Major General (retired) Vicent Mritaba.

"I have no doubt with the capacity of the defence forces but why the defence forces do not participate in the internal security issues... our security is tense internally," said Mr Salim.

Responding, Dr Mwini said: "A taskforce has already been formed to address the internal security issues."
