Govt to procure 200 vehicles for police

Responding to a question from Member of Parliament (Special Seats) Ms Rhoda Kunchela (Chadema), the Minister for Home Affairs, Mr Mwigulu Nchemba, said in the current financial year the government purchased 77 vehicles.

Dodoma. The government will procure 200 vehicles, which will be distributed to police stations across the country, the Parliament was told on Thursday.

Responding to a question from Member of Parliament (Special Seats) Ms Rhoda Kunchela (Chadema), the Minister for Home Affairs, Mr Mwigulu Nchemba, said in the current financial year the government purchased 77 vehicles.

In her question, Ms Kunchela had wanted to know what measures were taken by the government to equip the police, especially in remote areas.

Mr Nchemba insisted that the government would continue to empower the police, whenever the budget allows.
