Dodoma. Babati Urban MP Pauline Gekul (Chadema) has asked the Speaker of Parliament Job Ndugai to issue a statement regarding the status of local financial institution, Pride Tanzania Limited.

She asked the Speaker’s guidance on Thursday, September 13, during the Question and Answers session, saying the management of the institution had abandoned its staff and customers.

“There is speculation that the firm has even left the country and that its staff of over 500 people that are spread all over the country and more than 150,000 customers are not aware of when they will get their entitlements,” she said.

According to her, the complaints were sent also to President John Magufuli and the Minister for Finance and Planning, Dr Philip Mpango, in writing but they were yet to respond.

“I’m asking for your guidance in order that the government can issue a statement here (in Parliament) concerning this institution,” she said.

Following her statement, Ndugai asked the lawmaker to explain whether her guidance was related to any question that was raised in the house earlier today, but she failed to state.

“So the there is no connection, but the government has heard your concern,” he said.
