Morogoro Urban Member of Parliament Aziz Abood

Morogoro. Morogoro Urban Member of Parliament Aziz Abood, has donated bricks to Lugala Village for the construction of a dispensary.

Upon its completion, the dispensary will save Lugala residents from the difficulty in accessing health facilities, especially in emergencies.

Over the years, several people, including expectant mothers have lost their lives due to the lack of a health centre in the area, according to the village chairman, Mr Sanga Mkulago.

Speaking after handing over 16,000 bricks to the village leadership on Wednesday, Mr Abood indicated his readiness to respond to the social needs of the people in his constituency.

The MP said the bricks were for the initial construction process of the dispensary. He promised to donate more clinkers next week. Mr Mkulago thanked the legislator for his efforts to ensure easy access to health facilities. He said they have acquired a plot for the construction.

“People are forced to walk more than five kilometres to reach Madaganya Dispensary,” he said.

“In emergencies, the option is to hire a motorcycle or borrow a bicycle to get to the health facility,” Mr Mkulago added. Mr Abood, according to the village chairman, had told wananchi that he would help them build a dispensary if elected.

The project has been highly welcomed by Lugala residents. Elizabeth Tengeneza, one of the residents, said she was very happy they were proud that the promise has at last come true after seeing bricks delivered at the building site.
