Magufuli appoints Dr Kipilimba new national intelligence boss

Dar es Salaam. President John Magufuli has appointed Dr Modestus Kipilimba as the new Director General of Tanzania Intelligence and Security Services (TISS) to replace Mr Rashid Othman who had retired.

According to a statement issued by the Directorate of state house communications Mr Kipilimba will be sworn in later today.

Prior to his appointment Dr Kipilimba was National Identification Agency (NIDA) Acting Director General.

The President has also appointed Mr Robert Msalika as Deputy Director General. He replaces Mr George Madafa, who has been appointed as a new ambassador. Mr Madafa will be posted to his new working station later in the year.

Prior to the appointment Mr Msalika was an official at Tanzania Embassy in Ethiopia.

The statement furthered that other directors at TISS will continue to serve in their current positions.
