Mahiga asks for Sh150.8 billion in parliament

Dodoma. Foreign Affairs ministry has tabled its budget for 2017/18 budget on Monday requesting the Parliament to approve Sh150.8 billion.
The budget is less compared with Sh162.1 billion passed for the current financial year.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Dr Augustine Mahiga said Sh142.8 billion will be used for recurrent expenditure and Sh8 billion is for development budget.

He said the government will rehabilitate buildings of its embassies in Kampala, DRC, Harare, Beijing, Pretoria, Lilongwe, Cairo, Washington DC, Addis Ababa, Brussels and Muscat.
He said the government will also rehabilitate infrastructure at the college of Diplomacy in Dar es Salaam.
