Dar es Salaam. Iringa Urban MP Msigwa (Chadema) has been released on bail.
According to Chadema regional youth wing (Bavicha) chairperson Leonce Marto, the bail was grated on Sunday September 24 night at 10.25pm after he secured two sureties Mr Marto himself and Iringa Municipal Mayor Alex Kimbe.
Mr Msigwa was arrested on Sunday September 24 on at about 5.20pm for allegedly uttering seditious remarks, when he was addressing Mlandenge villagers in Iringa Municipal Council.
He was pulled out from the podium, when he was addressing a rally by the police led by the regional crime officer (RCO).

According to Mr Marto, Mr Msigwa’s rallies have also been banned and he won’t be allowed to proceed with his schedule to other wards until further notice from the officer commanding district (OCD).
“The firebrand MP, was directed to report to the RCO’s office for interrogation is likely to be taken to court to face sedition charges,” he said.
According to Mr Marto, the lawmaker is also expected to address members of the media today afternoon Monday September 25 to explain what happened.
