Nchimbi urges Tasaf grantees to start growing cashew trees

The Singida Regional Commissioner, Dr Rehema Nchimbi, has called upon the beneficiaries of the Tanzania Social Action Fund, which supports poor households, to plant cashew seedlings so that they can liberate themselves economically because the crop fetches higher prices. Dr Nchimbi made the statement when opening a training seminar on empowerment for 67 supervisors of temporary employment projects for the beneficiaries of phase III Tasaf. She said since the projects focused on the environmental conservation by planting trees, Tasaf in the region had the duty of communicating with the cashew nut board so that it could provide them with sufficient seedlings of the crop instead of planting other trees.
