Nurses in Tanzania cautioned to renew practising licenses or risk jail

Addressing the nurses during the commemoration of International Nurses Day at the Muhimbili National Hospital on Friday, MNH Director of nursing Ms Agnes Mtawa cautioned the nurses, who would be found guilty of practicing or attending patients without valid licenses.

Dar es Salaam. Nurses in Tanzania have been reminded to make sure that they renew their licences upon their expiry.

Addressing the nurses during the commemoration of International Nurses Day at the Muhimbili National Hospital on Friday, MNH Director of nursing Ms Agnes Mtawa cautioned the nurses, who would be found guilty of practicing or attending patients without valid licenses.

She said, they risked being subjected to fine of up to Sh5 million or life sentence or both.

She also asked the government to implement its directives, the latest one of providing uniforms allowances to nurses in the country.
