Over 500 exhibitors ready for 2016 agricultural show

Preparations for this year’s Nane Nane Agricultural Exhibition at the John Manganese grounds in Mbeya are in full gear.

Mbeya. More than 500 firms have confirmed participation in this year’s Nane Nane Agricultural Exhibitions, officials have said. 

The exhibition will be held at John Mwakangale grounds between August 1 and 8. 

The Tanzania Agricultural Society Organisation (Taso) secretary for Southern Highlands, Mr Ramadhan Kiboko, revealed to The Citizen on Wednesday that preparations and logistics for the week-long event were on course and Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa is expected to officiate at a closing ceremony.

The minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Charles Tizeba will officially open the agricultural show.

The John Mwakangale grounds manager, Mr  Gideon Kasilati has voiced concern over the scarcity of water at the  grounds, saying crops that have been planted for demonstrations have already started wilting.
