People arrested in Serengeti National Park are trespassers, says minister

Dodoma. The government has said its game wardens arrested trespassers in Serengeti National Park.

That was said in Parliament on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, by the deputy minister for Tourism, Mr Japhet Hasunga.

He was responding to a question by Serengeti MP Marwa Chacha (Chadema), who said 437 cases had been filed.

Chacha sought to know when killings of members of communities living around the park would be brought to an end.

Mr Hasunga clarified that the park is bordered by eight districts and that once suspects are arrested in the national park they are taken to a nearby police station for further action.
