Arusha. Shock gripped the prison quarters the killing of a prison warden.
Corporal Ombeni was shot dead on Wednesday,13 night allegedly by his colleague while on duty at the Kisongo prison on the outskirts of the city.
The Arusha regional police commander Charles Mkumbo said a prime suspect to the brutal murder Corporal Faustine Masanja is in police custody.
"You will be updated on the incident as the investigations continue ", he told reporters, adding that victim was rushed to the hospital with serious gun wounds but died shortly after arrival.
The shooting sent shockwaves around the famous prison and the adjacent residential quarters of the prison warders, all located near the Arusha airport along the Dodoma road.
Unconfirmed reports had it that the killing may have to do with jealously or love triangle gone sour.
