Ilala Boys beat Bom Bom FC 3-0 to win Airtel trophy

Ilala Boys opened their goal-account in the sixth minute when Rajabu Ally invited his colleague Issa Abushiri for a one-two before planting the ball into the net.

Dar es Salaam. Ilala Boys beat Bom Bom FC  3-0 to win the U-17 Airtel Rising Stars football tournament in Ilala.
The well-attended match was preceded by  finals for  girl teams where Simba Queens clinched the trophy after humiliating Ilala Queens 5-0.. Both matches were held at Karume Memorial Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
The boys encounter received more attention from spectators and kept coaches of both sides on their toes throughout match.
Ilala Boys opened their goal-account in the sixth minute when Rajabu Ally invited his colleague Issa Abushiri for a one-two before planting the ball into the net.
The goal evoked chants around the stadium and the jubilation intensified in the seventh minute when Ally capitalised on a corner kick to score the second goal for his team.
By halftime Ilala Boys were leading  with 2-0.  
On resumption, Abushiri in the 87th minute, sprinted with the ball past Bom Bom defenders and unleashed a power-packed drive which whistled into the net leaving the Bom Bom goalkeeper scrawling.
Handing trophies to the winners, Ilala MP Mussa Zungu called on the players to form a stron team to represent Ilala in the forthcoming national finals.
“The regional matches are over,  let us all plan for the finals. I want the national champions to come from here,” he said.
Airtel Tanzania manager of social services Hawa Bayumi commended the teams and encouraged them to keep up the good work.
Other regions participating in the Airtel Rising Stars championships this  year are Kinondoni, Temeke, Morogoro, Mbeya, Mwanza, Zanzibar, Lindi and Arusha and preliminaries commence  in two weeks time.
