AAT commends Oryx Energies for sponsoring ARC

Dar es Salaam. Automobile Association of Tanzania (AAT) is very grateful to Orxy Energies for sponsorship the African Rally Championship as main title sponsor which will be held on from August 31 to September 2.

This is annual event which is being organized by AAT and sanction by Federation International de Automobile (FIA) and blessed by National Sports Council (NSC) towards African Rally Championship award.

So far Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, South Africa has already staged their events.  Top five drivers in the ARC standings are Manvir Baryan (Kenya) /Sturrock Drew (GBR)  with 25 points, Carl Tundo / Tim Jessop (Kenya) have also collected  25 points, Gary Chaynes (CIV)/ Didier Le Borgne (CIV) ( 25 points), Pierro Cannobio (KEN)/ Silvia Frigo (KEN)  (19 points), Guy Botterill (SA)/Simon Vacy Lyle(SA) (18 points)  and Baldev Chager (KEN)/Ravi Soni (KEN)  who have pocketed 18 points.

In the last ARC held in Kenya, Tanzania driver Randeep Singh/Gurvinder Singh who finished fourth overall. Balance events are Zambia, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda whereby Africa Champion is determined.

The drivers from Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, South Africa, Zambia, Uganda and Rwanda are expected to take part in the event. The rally headquarters is Southern Sun Hotel Dar es Salaam who is associate sponsor.

The ceremonial start will be from Southern Sun Hotel Other sponsors are Knight Support, Flight link International Tanzania, Kenya based 540 airline, @ The wheel and Ubena Estates.

The route is being finalized and preparation was delayed due to heavy rains. The event director is Satinder Singh Birdi and 2018 Clerk of the course is Dr. Gurvinder Bala.

AAT is also thanking National Sports Council, Immigration Department, TRA and Police for facilitating the event.
