Preps for Cana tourney get underway

Tanzania will host the event for the first time since its inception at Heaven of Peace Academy (Hopac) from October 19 to 21.

Dar es Salaam. Tanzania Swimming Association (TSA) has unveiled a 51-member provisional squad ahead of the Cana Zone Three Championships.

Tanzania will host the event for the first time since its inception at Heaven of Peace Academy (Hopac) from October 19 to 21.

According to TSA, the swimmers will undergo adequate training under close supervision of two coaches, namely Alexander Mwaipasi and Michael Livingstone from Taliss Swimming Club and Dar Swimming Club respectively.

Mwaipasi said yesterday that 25 of the swimmers are females and the rest are males. He named the swimmers as Charlotte Amooti, Natalia Ladha, Kayla Gouws, Maia Tumiotto, Chichi Zengeni, Rania Karume, and Sarah Riyami, who will compete in the of U-12 category (girls).

Marinde Villard, Terry Tarimo, Ellia Imhoff, Judah Miller, Aravind Raghavendran and Jack Schipper will battle it out for top honoours in the boys’ Under-12 category.

Others are Natalie Sanford, Celina Itatiro, Amani Doggart, Kayla Temba, Shivano Bhatt, Shivan, Vanessa Dickson, Elissa Shour (U-14 girls); Delvin Barick, Oliver McIntosh, Khaleed Ladha, Abdullatif Mohameduwais, Fallih Ahmed, Kishi Tadashi and Dhashrrad Magesvaran (boys).

Also on the list are Sonia Tumiotto, Anna Guild, Emma Imhoff, Smriti Gokarn, Maya Somaiya, Larmey Epiphany, Dennis Mhini, Collins Saliboko, Harry McIntosh,Chris Fitzpatrick, Aliasgar Chakera, Carter Helsby, Angelica Spence, Tara Behnsen, Marina Kaleb, Anjani Taylor, Zohra Dewji while boys are Hilal Hilal, Adil Bharmal, Charlie McIntosh, Matthew Guild,Emmanuel Stenson, Vernase Kangeta and Joseph Sumari.
