Study to pick Tanzania’s top 100 mid-sized companies 2017 starts

Dar es Salaam. The seventh episode of Tanzania’s Top 100 Mid-sized Companies’ Survey is on, organisers have said.

Bank M is its main sponsor while the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) and Azam TV are its co-sponsors.

The Top 100 Mid-Sized Companies Survey celebrates business success among the country’s Mid-Sized Companies as well as entrepreneurs for contributing to the growth of the Tanzanian economy in general.

 Winners of the renowned Tanzania Top 100 Mid-Sized Companies Survey will be announced later in the year during a grand gala dinner event to be held in Dar es Salaam.

 The purpose of the Top 100 Survey is to identify Tanzania’s fastest growing medium-sized companies with a view to showcase their business excellence and highlight their most successful entrepreneurship stories. 

 Essentially, a “Top 100 Mid-sized Company” is one which ranks ahead of its peers in terms of revenue growth, profit growth, returns to shareholders and cash generation/liquidity. A Top 100 company has succeeded in progressively growing its market position in the industries in which it operates and over time,This growth has translated into both returns for its shareholders and a fairly sound financial position.

 The Dar es Salaam-based B Q Contractors was the first winner of the event in 2011. In 2012 and 2013, the Mwanza-based Kipipa Millers won the accolade. In 2014, the mantle went to the Arusha-based Helvetic Solar Contractors before the mantle went to Soft Technologies Limited and Flightlink Ltd in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
