Dar es Salaam.  Tanzania Commission for University (TCU) announced on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 that the deadline for the first window-application for Bachelor Degrees for the academic year 2018/2019 will be Wednesday, August 15.

The window which opened on July 20 involved three main groups: Form Six leavers, equivalent applicants (diploma, FTC, NTA6) and international applicants with equivalent credentials.

The TCU executive secretary Charles Kihampa said in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 that all students were supposed to send their application letters to institutions of their choice in which the commission had released the guidelines for each programme.

"As we close this window tomorrow, it should be understood that the Commission has released a list of approved undergraduate degree programmesinto which students in the 2018/2019 academic year will be admitted. All students and other stakeholders need to visit our website for more information," said Prof Kihampa.

He urged applicants to communicate with the institutions of their choice for confirmation.

"We call upon applicants to consult the institutions of their choice to confirm programmes before applying," he said.

The TCU boss further said international applicants must submit their documents to the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (Necta) or National Council of Technical Education (Nacte) for verification before they can be eligible to apply.

He also said higher learning institutions which admit bachelor students have been instructed to adopt electronic procedures for admission.

"We have instructed higher learning institutions to use electronic procedures in receiving, verifying and admitting students in a bid to simplify the admission processes," he said.

The second-window for application will be opened on 3 September, 2018 to 7 September, 2018 according to the secretary.
