TNBC-Danida pen deal on investment

Dar es Salaam. Tanzania National Business Council (TNBC) and the Danish International Agency (Danida) on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) meant to improve the local investment climate in Tanzania.

The pact is a continuation of the cooperation between the two parties in promoting business and investments in Dodoma and Kigoma, before other regions borrowed a leaf from the two.

Speaking during the inking ceremony, TNBC executive secretary Raymond Mbilinyi said the targeted areas of cooperation were the rule of law, sustainable economy, infrastructure and political stability. He said the pact that would expire in February 2020, would help to explore more potentials that the country is endowed with. The sectors, among others, include, fishing, agriculture and industries, according to him. (The Citizen Reporter)

Danida team leader Flemming Winther Olsen said his agency committed towards increasing the private sector contribution to the economy.

“Still there is a lot to be done to strengthen the relationship between private sector and government,” noted Mr Olsen.

He said under the contract, they would be educating local authorities in districts and regional levels on how to promote sustainable business and increase revenue.

This, was meant to promote Public Private partnership (PPP), to spur investment in districts.
