TanzaniteOne to re-employ 40 people

Mirerani. TanzaniteOne company is expected to recruit 40 workers from people who work as small minors around the company mine.

TanzaniteOne director general, Mr Hussein Gonga, said here that those who will be recruited were not among workers who were sacked last year after staging a strike.

“We will recruit those who were affected by downsizing exercise we conducted last year,” he said.

Mr Gonga said the company has decided to recall the workers following expansion of its activities which has necessitated expansion of workforce.

“When we removed we promised them that once the situation normalises they will be given priority. That is what we are doing,” he explained.

The Simanjiro District Commissioner, engineer Zephania Chaula, hailed the company for the move it has taken noting that it will help to easy unemployment pressure in the area.

“The community around the mine will also benefit as some of their people will now have reliable source of income,” he said.
