Tigo Fiesta extravaganza to kick off in Morogoro

Dar es Salaam,The Tigo Fiest extravaganza 2018 is set to kick off on September 29 in Morogoro with 14 other regional towns and cities to follow, organisers announced on Tuesday.

 The music and cultural festival in East Africa, the Tigo Fiesta 2018 this year will run under the tagline of  Vibe Kama Lote with 100 per cent local music.

Speaking at the launch Tigo’s head of marketing services William Mpinga said this year’s tagline which loosely translates into All the Vibes, underscores the entertainment  and delightful memories that the Tigo Fiesta season brings across the country.

“The festive will for the second year uniquely feature 100 per cent local artists and local content. This follows the resounding success of the 100% local content format used in last year’s carnival,” said Mpinga.

He added: With music as a key pillar of our company, Tigo Fiesta 2018 maintains its legacy of discovering and nurturing budding talent, thus transforming the music industry and creating direct and indirect job opportunities for the youth and wider society.

Gardner G. Habash who is the executive organizing secretary said that in the illustrious 17-year history, the Tigo Fiesta season has acted as a springboard for extending the reach of artist’s music.

“Tigo Fiesta has extended prospects for artists to showcase skills and grow their fan base on both the local stage and international scene as thousands of fans throng the live shows or follow the annual festival on television and via digital media,” he said.

Apart from delivering a carnival full of good times, merriment and splendid music, the Tigo Fiesta 2018 – Vibe Kama Lote also has a huge commercial benefit for the artists and residents of areas where the annual musical tour takes place.

This year’s Tigo Fiesta 2018 Vibe Kama Lote Festival will tour 15 regions of the country, setting off in Morogoro, Sumbawanga, Iringa, Singida, Songea, Mtwara, Moshi, Tanga, Muleba, Kahama, Mwanza, Musoma, Arusha and Dodoma in that chronological order before climaxing in Dar es Salaam.
