Dar es Salaam. Chadema candidate for Ukonga parliamentary seat Asia Msangi is bitter as to why her party's agents have been blocked from accessing the polling stations.

Voters in Ukonga have been forced to go back to the polls after the area MP, Mr Mwita Waitara, defect to the ruling CCM from the opposition Chadema, citing various political and personal reasons.

He went on to be picked as CCM candidate in the by-election.

And, during the polling day, the Chadema contender has accused the National Electoral Commission (NEC) for failure to act responsibly.

Speaking to MCL Digital Ms Msangi claimed the problem has led to her failing to cast her votes by noon.

"I am still running here and there to ensure my party's agents are allowed into the voting stations,” she said on phone.

Ms Msangi claimed that although the returning officer had assured her the issue would be tackled, this has not been the case, alleging that there could be a sabotage targeting the opposition.
