Waitara: I’m satisfied by voters’ turnout

Dar es Salaam. The CCM parliamentary candidate for Ukonga Constituency Mr Mwita Waitara has expressed his satisfaction with the number of voters attended the by-election held on Sunday, September 16, 2018.

Briefing reporters shortly after visiting the Laurence School Polling Station, Mr Waitara said the turnout implied that people were aware of their democratic rights.

"There is no big challenge that voters have faced in all polling stations I have visited so far," he said.

He said from his observations, number of voters was high in the early hours as compared to the afternoon.

Mr Waitara was optimistic that the number of voters would increase before end of voting.

"I hope the exercise will end peacefully, thanks to preparations made by the National Electoral Commission (NEC)," he added.
