Prime Minister Kassim Majaaliwa will launch the guideline document for dialogue between public and private sector which is meant to strengthen the relationship between the two parties in addressing the challenges negatively affecting businesses.

Dar es Salaam. Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa is scheduled to launch the guideline for dialogue between the government and private sector at regional and district levels end of next month.

This was said on Tuesday, September 25 by Willy Magehema, who was speaking on behalf of the Tanzania National Business Council (TNBC) acting executive secretary, during discussions over the document.

The guideline was prepared by TNBC, thanks to the support from Local Investment Climate (LIC) and Enabling Growth through Investment and Enterprise (Engine).

“The guideline is meant to strengthen the relationship between the government and the private sector in addressing the challenges impeding business,” said Mr Magehema.

With the new guideline, the district and regional business councils will consist of 40 members, with regional and district commissioners vested with powers to chair the former and the later respectively.

As it happens, the District and Regional Business Councils will now have equal representation between public and private sector, with each accounting for 20 members.

The appointment of the members would be made by District and Regional commissioners, who are the chairs of the councils.

In case of members representing private sector, the appointment would be made in consultation with the private bodies.
