The amount was less than Sh732 million obtained from transacting 3,041,163 shares in 355 deals the previous week. Eight of the 15 companies listed on bourse traded poorly last week while three others — KA, TOL, Tatepa, KCB, Nicol, EABL and JHL counters — were inactive. The TBL counter had a market turnover of Sh9.77 million that was realised from trading 4,550 shares in 13 deals last week, lower than Sh29.96 million realised from transacting 17,021 shares in 20 deals a week earlier. The Simba counter traded 15,205 shares worth Sh27.67 million in 14 deals last week against 19,573 shares worth Sh35.62 million transacted in 14 deals a week earlier. The TCC counter transacted 40 shares worth Sh0.07 million in one deal last week compared with 15,710 shares worth Sh28.59 million traded in 25 deals in the previous week. The Swissport counter traded 12,036 shares worth Sh6.5 million in 16 deals last week from 8,946 shares worth Sh4.83 million transacted in 18 deals a week earlier. The DCB counter transacted 19,900 shares worth Sh5.77 in 19 deals, higher than 9,802 shares worth Sh2.88 million transacted in 13 deals during the review period. The Twiga counter transacted 23,386 shares worth Sh38.33 million in 69 deals last week, lower than 40,883 shares valued at Sh67.05 million traded in 58 deals a week earlier. The NMB counter transacted 195,182 shares worth Sh158.1 million in 69 deals last week. The bank transacted 267,840 shares worth Sh217.09 million in 140 deals the preceding week. The CRDB counter had a turnover of Sh72.02 million that was realised from trading 554,014 shares in 32 deals last week against Sh345.98 million from 2,661,388 shares transacted in 67 deals a week earlier. Share prices and market capitalizations of most companies stagnated for a long period. The bourse’s market capitalisation remained at Sh4,983.71 billion for the last two weeks. Local companies’ market capitalisation stuck at Sh1,878.87 billion during the same period.
