Still it was not listed in the provisional New Seven Wonders of Nature in November 2011 and the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) should shoulder the blame as it did little to promote the voting process. The process started in 2009 but TTB started exhorting the public to vote almost at the end of the process. It is a shame that many votes came from other countries and not Tanzania. Had the board created awareness on the importance of voting for the mountain, the situation would have been different. South Africa vigorously promoted the voting for Table Mountain and is on the list. South America's Amazon rain forests led the pack followed by Vietnam's Ha Long Bay, and Argentina's Iguazu Falls. |
