The office space is often ignored when it comes to decorating.

It is where you spend a lot of your time.  It is almost like a second home to you.  Therefore, it has to reflect your liking.

Decorating an office space can be a delicate balancing act. On the one hand you want it to be inviting and pleasant for both employees and visitors, while on the other hand it must remain professional in look and feel.

There are some simple harmless decorating options that you could add to your cubicle without breaching any company rules. Of course, you must first consult and know what is acceptable and what is not.

Pictures
They are always the best option for decorating your office space. It is especially great for those who want to keep their memories in front of their eyes.

These can be photographs of your family, spouse and children.

Mementos and souvenirs could give that extra zing.

It could be a small idol you picked on your last vacation or just a statue of your favourite celebrity or sport personality.

If you have degrees or awards you have earned, feel free to hang them on the walls.

The more accomplishments you have the more professional some people view you.

In case your office space is near the window and exposed to a good amount of sunlight, then you can keep a plant like a fern.

If your cubicle does not get enough light, then choose a plant which grows well in low light.

These plants can literally give you a 'fresh breath of air' because of their carbon dioxide absorbing and oxygen releasing capacities.

In addition to that, plants always help to lift your mood.

Calendars
Go personal with your calendar or planner. You can get yourself a trendy calendar to adorn your office furniture.

Choose a calendar that reflects your personality. Go for a calendar with pictures that you are crazy about.

Scribble down some motivational quotes, funny quotes on sticky notes of different colours or just print them and put them up on your cubicle.

They are a sure-fire way of making your cubicle a better place to work.

It's been said that with a clear desk comes a clear mind. Clearing the clutter is a great way to decorate; a neatly arranged desk is not only attractive but also reflects something about you.
