While on my numerous rounds to the ladies to powder my nose and drain the killer drinks that had gone down my throat that evening, naturally, I could not help eavesdropping on a conversation by some women in there. It turned out to be quite a juicy one.

These women were really up to something fishy.  They were talking about the foreign men; apparently one of them was showing too much interest in a man that the other had secured which was making her chances of getting him very slim.

“We agreed that once one marks a territory the rest stay off,” she said. The other one responded by saying it’s not her fault that the man liked her more.

“But rules have to be respected if we have to hunt together,” chipped in another. After lots of hustle they finally convinced the other one to back off, in some kind of ‘scramble for partition’

Curiosity got the better of me and I set out to find out the source of this mouthwatering conversation. It was a shocker, because on coming out I was faced with four very well dressed women, looking amazingly young and educated.

 I almost thought I had imagined the conversation but when they immediately walked out on seeing me, I knew I was right.

Not letting the opportunity to find out how this would end, I stealthily followed their every move in the cosmopolitan audience. They matched the guests in almost every aspect, save for their intentions.

Back at the party, the girls danced and had the chutzpa to socialise with every white man in the room and I was not surprised to see each one leave accompanied.

This sobered me up immediately, as I wondered what motivation a young educated and beautiful woman would have for using her body like that.

Prostitution as we know is often described as the oldest profession that despite being labelled immoral continues to thrive among all circles.

I have heard stories of women being forced into prostitution by poverty, in some countries others are sold into it, but in this case, these women have chosen willingly to indulge in this trade.

Assumptions just like looks can sometimes be misleading, but from the look of things, these women were capable of making a living elsewhere.

For the reckless desire of leading a luxurious life beyond their means, they choose the easier way out, instead of working hard for it. I really don’t care what reason they have, it is just wrong.

I was more than shocked to learn that there are feminist groups that argue that prostitution is acceptable as long as the woman is not either coerced into it or exploited.

Religion aside, some people argue that as long as it is your body you can do whatever you want, some choose to pierce, others tattoo, other sell body parts, while other choose to use it is a means to achieve certain selfish ends.
But all the same, why would a well educated, exposed woman with all the potentials of getting a job resort to prostitution as a way of life?
