Dar es Salaam.  Two days after the Kili Awards  released the nominees’ list controversy has again took centre stage when Bongo Flava artiste Dully Sykes announced his withdrawal from this year’s event.

Speaking to the Beat, the Bongo Flava singer said he did not see any value in competing for the awards and instead he should use the time to concentrate on meaningful ventures.

“I would like to tell my fans that I have withdrawn from the Kili Music, because it does not contribute to my growth whatsoever, and this contest is full of lies,” he said.

The singer who has been nominated in three categories reiterated his mistrust of the nomination committee.
I have been very clear in the past and I have categorically said that I don’t want to participate in these awards,” he said of the awards that are considered the second biggest on the continent.

Dully’s announcement follows in the footsteps of TID who withdrew from the awards two years ago citing unfairness.
When asked whether he had sent an official notification of his withdrawal as to the organizing committee, he said he did not find it necessary.. (Vicky Kimaro)
