Dating prospects across FA region Finally, we can smell the East African communily. This dream envisaged by the founding fathers of our nations almost 40 years ago, is finally on our doorstep.Of course, there have been all manner of misunderstandings that have marred the process. But my thinking is that away from the economic and political gains, the common man's imagination is captured by the dating prospects that will be available. So most have left the elites to worry about the 'brainy' stuff in conference rooms as they go on a bender thinking aboul their chanees of hooking, let say, a Rwandese WOman. I actually heard one woman profess her desire to marry an East African man (meaning not from her own Country), for the adventure it promises. Job opportunities aside, to most men, this entails a larger playing field. Because modern technology has narrowed the geographical gap, it means chances of geLLing caught, in a smaller radius (read once country) are higher. Which means, if you widen it to another country, you can have an illicit without raising eyebrows. My pal says that his dream is lo work in all the five EA cities and have women in all, because the : likelihood of them ever finding out : about one another are slim. His argument is the larger the : distance between the women, the less likely they are to find out what he has been up to. One can have an office affair at his work place in Kampala, marry in Kigali, have a mistress in Nairobi and SLill maintain another girlfriend in Dar es : Salaam withoul any worries. Another friend sees this as the big opportunity to sample the Uganda women who have been acelaimed to treat their men like royalty. "We have always heard that these women even kneel for their men and are good in 'Lhose matters'. This is the grand opportunity," he says. Absurd, I know! But makes me wonder which women stand at an advantage between the highly aggressive Kenyan ones, the over giving Ugandan lasses, the tamed Rwandese and the polite Tanzanian broads. Which of the women will be most enticing? As for Lhe girls who complain about there being no good men around, the hunting ground has never been bigger! For those worried about exposure in different countries, why not try them all? I heard one suggestion that I find quite genius (or not). A buddy plans to give his child the true EA experience. His child will attend kindergarten in Dar, head to Kenya for primary education, secondary in Kampala, high school in Burundi and university in Kigali. This will ensure Lhey are able to work anywhere as they have a little bit of every culture. You can reach the writer at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
