Briefly, can you describe what you are doing? We are demonstrating different activities that take place in a typical school laboratory, but this time using these micro science apparatus.
What are these micro-science apparatus? These are tools supplied to rural schools under a project by Unesco to address the lack of laboratories in these areas.
What is so special about these tools? They are new, and since they do not use electricity, they are very handy in rural areas. The tools use rechargeable batteries. How helpful are these tools? Like I said before, they don’t use electricity, which makes them ideal for rural schools. Also, you don’t need a huge laboratory to keep them. You can store all apparatus for chemistry, biology and physics in one room. They can also be carried to classrooms, which makes them even more convenient.
How many schools have been supplied with them? 160 rural secondary schools where there is no reliable electricity supply. Schools from Dar es Salaam were not part of this project.
