Watchmen in court charged with stealing a vehicle  Send to a friend

Two watchmen were yesterday brought in the Kinondoni Resident Magistrate’s Court charged with stealing a government vehicle worth Sh80 million.

Issa Juma, 43, and Nzinye Senzile, 25, appeared before magistrate Suzan Kihawa to answer charges against them.

Inspector of Police Nassoro Sisiwayah alleged that the accused stole a Toyota land cruiser last November 11, at Kimbamba area in Kinondoni district.

However, the accused pleaded not guilty and were remanded after failing to meet bail conditions.
The court required two reliable workers from any recognised company as surety and signing a bond of Sh30 million each.

The trial magistrate adjourned the case to May 17, this year when it comes up for another mention.

Meanwhile, Bakari Nawar appeared before the same court charged with impersonating a public officer.
The accused appeared before resident magistrate Lillain Rutehangwe.

Inspector of Police Wilson Mahila alleged that the accused obtained Sh500, 000 from Mustapha after he falsely presented himself to him as an employer with the State House.

The offence was committed on March 28, this year at Kijitonyama area in Kinondoni district. The accused pleaded not guilty and was out on bail after meeting the bail conditions.

The case was adjourned to May 18, this year when it comes up for another mention and investigation is still going on.
