Simba were forced to play with 10 men for 48 minutes after Haruna Moshi was red carded for kicking JKT Oljoro defender Omari Mtaki. The match kicked off on a low note with both sides failing to make any telling attacks due to lack of creativity in the middle of the park. After 20 minutes in which both sides lacked cohesion, the home side started to push forward and crafted chances with Moshi, Patrick Mafisango and Uhuru Seleman troubling JKT Oljoro defenders constantly. In the 25th minute, Moshi came close to breaking the stalemate, but his curling shot from the left flank went a few centimetres off target. Oljoro defence came under a real test a minute later when Mafisango threaded a pass to Moshi, but defender Marcul Ndeheli did well to avert the danger. The Arusha boys, who remain in the fourth place with 26 points, made a serious attack on the half hour mark, but could not be rewarded for their effort. Moshi came into the picture once again in the 33rd minute when with only goalie Omari Lubawa at his mercy, blasted a shot wide. Simba continued to press for the opening goal, but still Oljoro, who played a physical game, managed to keep the Simba striker at bay. The visitors were the better side in the second half, but paid the price for lack of precision in the area. Okwi, who came off the bench to replace Gervais Kago, made a brilliant run in the 59th minute to connect home a pass from Seleman, thus sending Simba fans into wild celebrations. After the goal, Oljoro reorganised themselves and launched a series of attacks, but the likes of Bakari Kigodeko, Amir Omary and Rashid Nassoro fluffed their chances. Okwi doubled Simba’s advantage in the 83rd minute to dash out JKT Oljoro’s hopes of going home with a point. At Chamazi Stadium, African Lyon bounced back with a 2-0 win over Dodoma Police courtesy of goals from Sino Augustino and Sunday Bakari.
