Azam’s John Boko and Mrisho Ngassa continue to breathe fire behind Mussa Hassan Mgosi in the chase for premiership’s golden boot.
Until this weekend, Mgosi had was two-goal ahead of his closet challengers after posting 14 goals in the 19-match onslaught.
Second-placed Ngassa and Boko  have each fired 12 times to help their teams maintain second and third positions in the league standings.
The leading trio enhanced their chance over the weekend with spectacular goals.
Mgosi scored his 14th goal when Simba mauled Ruvu JKT  3-1 with other goals coming from Mohamed Banka and Uhuru Seleman.
Fourth-placed Bunu Hussein scored the consolation goal for Ruvu JKT.
The Sunday match between Young Africans and Azam FC at the Uhuru Stadium also sparkled off the change in the marksmanship.

In that match both second-placed players  Mrisho Ngassa  and John Bocco scored for their teams.Ngassa netted the opener as  his team claimed a hard earned  2-1 win over Azam FC while fourth placed Jerry Tegete scored the second goal for the winners.
With seven goals each, Jerry Tegete and Hussein  tie at the third position  while the last season’s top scorer Boniface Ambani  is fourth overall with  six goals.
While the chase for the top scorer’s title goes a three-player affair, a fight for the league crown remains a two-giant affair.
Frontrunners Simba are 99 percent sure of the throne as they need only two points to claim the title from remaining three matches.
Simba play Azam in their 20th match and the victory will see them dethrone their traditional rivals Young Africans who will grab 54 points do they win their three remaining matches.
But, worth to reckon in this league is the fierce fight for the survival.
Five teams are involved in the fight for the relegation threat.
Bottom-placed Moro United with 16 points, Toto Africa who have grabbed 18 points and Prisons with 18 points can only shrug off relegation if they win the rest of the matches while praying for the fall of Manyema, Kagera Sugar  and African Lyon who have penned 18 and 20 points.
Even the 7th placed Ruvu JKT who have chalked 23 points are not safe from relegation if they lose all their matches.
