Army owned teams continued to dominate the First Division Netball League following their yesterday’s wins.

Playing at TTC Chang’ombe courts, netball giants Jeshi Stars laboured to defeat Dar es Salaam Police 24-18.

Jeshi Stars started the first half energetically, scoring quick-fire goals, but their opponents came into the game midway through the first half to level the score.

The thrilling second half saw both teams fight to seal the victory, but they were Jeshi Stars who swooped late to score crucial goals.

Mbeya Police edged out Mapinduzi Dodoma 18-14 in another exciting match held at the same venue.

Newcomers Filbert Bayi, who started the league to a flier after annihilating Sifa Queens 45-7, slumped to a 25-17 defeat at the hands of Magereza Dodoma.

Sifa Queens were no match to Ras Lindi who battered them 75-12.

The Queens are so far the weakest team after losing their matches by big margins.

Tumbaku of Morogoro were too strong from Emima of Dar es Salaam, beating them 44- 14 while Mwanza Police earned a   walkover after Maganga failed to show up.

The Tanzania Netball Association (Chaneta), Rose Mkisi, said the teams that failed to show up might face elimination.
