Tanzania’s Alphonce Joseph will next month make his international debut against Obaiah Mwangi of Kenya.Sanctioned by Tanzania Professional Boxing Organisation (TPBO), the eight-round heavyweight bout will take place on February 19 at a venue yet to be named. TPBO president Yasin “Ustadh” Abdallah said yesterday that preparations for the fight were on course. Abdallah said they have organised the fight with a view to giving the Tanzanian boxer the exposure he needs to excel internationally. Joseph, better known in the boxing circles as “Mchumiatumbo,” is one of the country’s best heavyweight boxers at the moment.For his part, Joseph said he was looking forward to celebrating his international debut with a win against the Kenyan pugilist. |
