Dar es Salaam. An arduous task awaits Dodoma Police today when they face in-form JKT Ruvu in a Vodacom Premier League match at Chamazi Stadium in Dar es Salaam.Dodoma Police, still reeling after a poor start last season, will be fighting for a win to revive their hopes to avoid relegation when the top flight league reaches its home stretch on May 5.

The law-enforcers wound up their first round campaign with nine points from 13 games, two points ahead of bottom-placed Villa Squad and 19 adrift of league leaders Simba. But Police coach Rashid Chama said yesterday that he has addressed the weaknesses he noted during the first round and insisted that his team will be all out for the three points at stake today.

"You know when you start the season anything can happen. Everyone in the squad is not ready to play 100 per cent. Everyone needs four, five, six games to gain confidence,” said Chama.

“Now it is different and I think we now have what it takes to make our presence felt in the league,” he added.JKT Ruvu are in great form but the army team’s coach, Charles Kilinda, yesterday warned his players that their impressive show in the first round will mean nothing if they lose in today’s showdown.

The army outfit will be on 20 points with a win, 11 ahead of Dodoma Police, but their coach is taking nothing for granted even though his side routed the law-enforcers in the first round.

“I think at this moment, Dodoma Police are a very strong side, we can’t afford to underrate them,” he insisted.Kilinda also voiced optimism that his team would join the top four before the elite league comes to an end."Top four is where we want to be, and everything above that is a bonus,” he said.
